Free As A Bird,
It’s the next best thing to be free as a bird.
Home, home and dry
Like a homing bird I fly, as a bird on wings
Whatever happened to the life that we once knew
Can we really live without each other
Where did we lose the touch
That seemed to mean so much
It always made me feel so
Free as a bird

How long will my prayer seem unanswered?
Is there still faith in me to reach the end?
I’m feeling doubt, I’m losing faith
But giving up would cost me everything

So I’ll stand in the pain and the silence
And I’ll speak to the dark night

I believe in the sun even when it’s not shining
I believe in love even when I don’t feel it
And I believe in God even when He is silent
And I, I believe

Though I can’t see my stories ending
That doesn’t mean the dark night has no end
It’s only here that I find faith
And learn to trust the One who writes my days

So I’ll stand in the pain and the silence
And I’ll speak to the dark night

No dark can consume light
No death greater than this life
We are not forgotten
Hope is found when we say…
Even when He is silent

anew (via mmlim)

Do you care
You talk about me
Like I’m not here

Don’t get a word in
When you’re around
I bet you don’t know
What I’m about

What you see isn’t all I am
I need a place to stand
I will speak for myself
There’s so much you’re missing
If you cared you’d listen

I feel I’m fading
I flicker out
My heart is screaming
Without a sound

What you see
Isn’t all I am
I need a place to stand
I will speak for myself
There’s so much you’re missing
If you cared you’d listen

I’m not sorry for who I am
Take it or leave it
It’s my time to take a stand
Throw it or keep it
Know that you don’t need to understand
Won’t say it again

"Way back in the garden the tempter told our first parents, “you can be like God”. Unfortunately it does not work that way. There is only one God of the universe, and we are not it. One day Byrne – like all of us – will stand before our maker, and our foolishness, pride and presumption will all melt away. All our self-deception and lies will be exposed, and there will be no magic wand to get us out of that situation. There will be no mind over matter to wish that reality away.”

- A review of The Secret.
